A new Community Training Center (CTC) will open on October 23, 2017, in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim.
The center will initially be located at No. 2 Park Lane, then move to Unit 1 Northwest Business and Technology Park in February 2018.
Community training centers provide training and education to unemployed youth and early school leavers aged 16 to 21.
The CTC will be established and supported by Sligo CTC, which has been operating in Sligo since 1984.
Sligo CTC is managed by Gavin Dykes, supported by a volunteer board of directors and funded by MSLETB.
A course, hairdressing, will initially be offered in Carrick-on-Shannon and a restoration course will be launched in 2018.
Each course will run over two years and may include internships with interns striving to achieve QQI Level 3 certification.
Additional modules in computer science, literacy and numeracy will be provided at the CLC.

ETB training allowances apply. Childcare, rent and travel allowances apply where applicable.
