County Director appoints April Furth as Director of Community Development

April Furth will be director of the Clark County Community Development Department after being appointed to the position by County Director Kathleen Otto.

She started in her new role on November 16, according to a press release.

Prior to his appointment, Furth was hired in February to lead the licensing center of the community development department. She has more than 17 years of retail management experience and has also served as regional merchandising manager, store manager and vice president, the statement said.

Furth’s work at the Permit Center has reduced permit intake times and improved overall customer service.

“April has been instrumental in working with her team, external partners and the general public to develop respectful and productive working relationships and streamlined services,” said Otto. “His commitment to the Clark County team didn’t just provide an opportunity for collaboration; he fostered an environment focused on customer service.

Furth said she was thrilled to be the director and hopes to make a difference on a bigger scale.

The Community Development Department provides services to several divisions, including construction, development engineering, land use, animal control, and the Office of the Fire Marshal.
